    pulling recovery cylinder into vacuum



    Hi all ,im new here and have a question about recovery cylinders.
    i have a half ton cylinder used for refrigerant r-12. I was wanted to know on what side do i pull the tank into vacuum. Liqiud or vapor side?

    Both of the connections on the top of the cylinder go to the inside, so it doesn't matter which one you use to pull a vacuum.
    The difference with the connections, is that the Liquid has a dip tube down to the bottom of the cylinder, whereas the Vapour connection doesn't.

    i really needed the reminder. My job now wants us to make sure the cylinders we recieve are in deep vacuum.
