    Hi Rob
Some good photos, brought back some memories not all good I might add.
I do remember these old compressors, one plant I worked on many years ago had about 12 vertical twin compressors ranging in size from 4'' X 4" up to 12" x 12". These were replaced by high speed recips and Howden screws.
The old vertical twin compressors lasted for years due to the low speed, it was hard work overhauling them especially the big ones, the pistons weighed a ton and had to be lifted in and out of the compressor with a chain block. I must say I didn't miss working on them when they were replaced.
I also recall an old Meatworks here that had a twin cylinder horizontally opposed compressor with a 24 foot flywheel, I never saw it working and don't know what happened to it.
I don't have any photos to post, we didn't have mobile phones with cameras in those days.
