    Leakage test jumping

    Hi

I'd like to do some experiences, by jumping the nitrogen leakage test,
    with small Split units.

If I open a little the service valve and allow just a small amount of refrigerant to flow into the tubes, will it expand to something as 120PSI or more ?

Supposing I have done a good flare and connections, is this enough to correct some small leakages ?

    Moises

    hi acrisoft .
are there no rules or regulations in brazil. we have a thing called f gas.
feel free to read about and the basic standarards to work to .
i all ways leaktest with nitrogen even on a small split , bubble test ( soapy water ) the flares , the last thing i want is a very very slow blip( buBble forms from leak on flare ).
and know i have fitted a leak free sytem that should run for years .
i notice from you other post that you have students .
please do not teach them bad habits of cutting corners .

By skipping a pressure test and opening valves I guess you are also skipping a vacuum... All very bad practice. a small split will take minimal OFN to test properly. I can't see that you are saving any cost by skipping. If you do have a braze leak then you will have to reclaim to repair it and you will have lost some of the system charge. This will be far more time consuming and costly. Just do it properly! For your sake and the customers!!
