Fisher Paykel freezer FJ383M - fan not running

Just new here so please go easy
Been trying to diagnose/repair a fault with my FP freezer.
Lost all contents of freezer due to a power interruption, but when all back up an running - cold at bottom of freezer and warm at top

Noticed I never got to see the fan running that I believe brings cool air to the top of freezer.

I did also replace the 6hr timer and it does cycle

Little fan is not turning on
I pulled it out an applied 240V and fan runs
With fan disconnected - I get 240VAC at the fan terminals.

With fan connected - I can only read 24VAC but fan does not turn

    Is this normal

I got no orange alarm light now and it ices well at bottom of freezer, but water at top is cold but not frozen after 24 hrs

Just hoping for a lead into determining what else to look at for repair

    Thermostat???

    O

what is the voltage rating of the fan?,would not be thermostat if there is refrigeration running, when you say ices weel at bottom not top sounds like system might be short of gas, system details?

One or so models of Westinghouse upright freezers can burn out their defrost heater and when the mechanical defrost timer returns to cooling cycle, the evaporator fan refuses to run because the heater, in the cooling mode, is used as a neutral for the evaporator fan. No fan means no freezing of contents, or regular defrosting for evaporator.

I believe your Fisher & Paykel is wired the same way.

Ah, the 6 hour timer will have a safety thermostat attached to the cooling coil. (That cuts power to heater when no ice is present.) Sometimes this little guy fails to reset and breaks the neutral link.

It turned out to be the coil thermostat 1412380

Going to source it from a supplier online

I also put in a new 6hr timer - but the cam switch is is a little different

When should this switch engage (what part of cycle)

    I drew up a schematic - attachedFreezer.jpg

The cam switch cuts power to the evaporator fan motor when the timer completes its defrost cycle and returns to cooling mode. As the Defrost termination thermostat (Coil thermostat) is open at this time, your evap fan won't run anyway...until the evap has chilled and coil stat closes.
Basically....there is no need to use the cam switch.
