    Mobile phone memory

The display went tits-up on my Nokia mobile at the weekend. It still powers up but the display is pooped. I borrowed another phone & swapped the sim card over only to find that I've now got no stored phone nos. A knowledgeable mate told me that even though I had nos. stored on the phone I should've saved them to the sim card also -d'oh! I popped into two mobile phone shops today to see if I could recover the phone nos. -they said no but I got the feeling that the staff weren't that knowledgeable. Is there any way of recovering the phone nos. from the phone with the ****ged display? i.e. plugging something else into it

What make is it? If its got bluetooth you might be able to sync it to your PC using nokia PC suite.

    Re: Mobile phone memory

We've done this before but you need 2 identical phones to do it.

Start from switching the phone on so you know where you are in the display. Then, all you have to do is to key in exactly the same sequence as on the phone with the display to save / transfer the numbers from the phone to the sim.

    Easy

    Re: Mobile phone memory

have done that nokia to nokia job before and it works quite well. these days when i upgrade i keep the old card {with all numbers on it} in case of loss/theft they can be reinstalled. my p900 getting a bit tired but no sign of sony bringing out the p990 as yet. excellent phone/pda, always makes me laugh when someone borrows it to make a call and sits there with a blank look and no idea how to use it.
