One liquid line for Freezers and Chillers

Is it ok to have one liquid line for both freezer cabinets and chiller cabinets? The system has a compressor rack with 2 bitzer compound compressor for the freezers, 3 single stage compressor for the chillers and 1 condenser. Suction line is one for the freezer and one for the chiller line. Is this a good design? Also what is the formula for the calculation of liquid receiver? Refrigerant is R404a or R22. Thank you in advance for the help.

I guess when you say one condenser you mean one condenser with separate low & medium temp passes ?
If Low and medium completely seperate there is some hope .

One liquid line means they are all joined into one system ??
Not sure what compound compressor means .

It is done like that in supermarkets.

The low temp side pump into the high side and the
common discharge uses the same condenser receiver
and liquid line.

It is quite common and works if it is sized correctly.

Your cases will need to be individually controlled with
shut off valves and liquid solenoid valves controlling
temp and defrosts.

Your compressors will need to be controlled on pressure
and control the discharge / condensing temp by sizing the
condenser and then cycling the condenser fans.

Yep, we nearly always go for a dual temp pack now. Usually 2 x dual temp packs rather than 1 HT and 1 LT. This way, if a pack should go down you still have some frozen and some chiller cabinets. We also put two blowers (one off each pack) in the chiller and freezer rooms, so again if you lose a pack, you don't lose a back up room. As long as you have fan speed control on your condenser there's no problem with single condenser, receiver and liquid line.

Yes that is more or less standard configuration in supermarkets today, saw dirst ome about 14 years ago.
Even nowadays seeing same configuration with transcritical co2 systems here in holland.
