High quality installation

Just thought you might like to share your comments on this quality installation that we attended recently as the new client complained that the system did not seem to be working properly.
We found that it had lost its gas charge.

Note the really neat infill of the solder coupler with silicon sealant.
The compression joint on the 1/4" line, was just that complete with olives.
Love to see that the 'yeehaas' are still alive and cutting costs to take the jobs.
There must be some other examples out there.

They should at least used Plastic Padding metal as a filler.
Silicone, pah, no standards at all!

At first I thought the coupler was a Lokring or similar!
Then, I wondered if it was on R32 & the olive was a type I haven't seen yet (only done Fuji's with bang gas so far).

Then I read the rest, and laughed!

It reminds me of the time a mate got sent to a callout on a new unit. The plumber had installed it, and when it didn't work on switching on, called my mate's company.
It turned out the plumber had done a good job of soft soldering it into the plumbing!

Our tech guys got a call from a plumber once who
could not get the newly installed AC to run correctly.

When asked about the vaccing and pressure testing
he proudly confirm that he had pressure tested to 4 bar
like he always did. It was at that point that the tech guy
realised he had pressure tested the AC system with water,
just as he would have done a domestic radiator emitter circuit.

I think he was told his warranty was void

You gotta love plumbers! As an apprentice I went out to a site with a VRF that had lost all of its gas. I remember standing at the bottom of the steps whilst he engineer pissed himself laughing in the ceiling and rang the boss. The whole install was water pipe and had literally split open at the seams under the then new pressures of r410a.... If it's copper pipe a plumber can do it.
