Viking pumps suck. Fiddly bloody things with the way you set up the clearances as well as shaft seals between bearings. Id rather have a Mycom or even the antique David Brown pump.

For me the hardest thing is replacing carbon bush in idler gear. Get it wrong & you crack it radially.
Paul Z has mentioned in the past about carbon faces wearing out. As he states replacing with antimony carbons is the only way to go.
We have also seen many cases of by lock nut coming loose. Best to locktite or make up double nut which also is locktite secured.
