Question Small Arena Install (Screw or Recip?)

    Hi Guys,
We are doing a renovation of a small arena. Consultants are pushing two for small (40hp) bitzer microscrews. Wondering your thoughts. We are on rural power and quite often lose a phase. Wondering if microprocessor driven units are a good idea. Thanks.

specify phase failure protection and power surge/sag protection.

Saw several arenas with recip. compressors. They work well. Usually, small screws less efficient than big screws. Part load operation of the screws is not efficient as well.

Segei can you believe the solution they have to partial load is to keep them loaded by using them to heat building!

    Hi
Recips are probably more practical in a rural location, from a serviceability point of view, stripping a mini screw usually done by specialists, and needs shipping away for repairs. Where as a local tech can change valve plates etc., on a recip on site.

I know that CIMCO have eco-chill system. This system use less natural gas for heating, but much more electrical energy, because it operate at high condensing pressure.
