    f-gas question

    hi all.
I came across this question recently. Which would you guys say is the most correct?

Which of the following can reduce liquid back up in a remote condenser caused by the receiver being in a warm location?
    a) Fit a condenser/receiver pressure balance line.
    b) Relocate the condenser.
    c) Condenser fan speed control.
    d) Fit a cooling loop around the receiver body.

    c) Condenser fan speed control.

And if it's C&G you can quote me as you can get a few wrong!
Health and safety first..........unless I'm in a hurry.

    Re: f-gas question

    doh!
MOST correct! I answered myself didnt I?
Have seen a balance line before, but that was to reduce condenser capacity, so probably not a).
Moving the condenser could work, but it would still have the same low ambient conditions, so not b) probably.
Have never seen d) before, but wouldnt that work in theory? Increased load would raise HP, and reducing receiver temp would reduce pressure encouraging liquid to that area.

    Anyways, ta for your help!

Luckily I did my F-gas years ago, and no retest looming just yet

    Re: f-gas question

The answer could also be a. On some sites we fit a line from the receiver through a nrv to the condenser discharge line with the nrv flow from receiver to condenser. The reason for this is if the receiver is say in a very warm area and if the ambient is very low even a fsc set up is no good as the cond fans may stop all together. With the receiver pressure being slightly higher the nrv opens and pressurises the discharge to stop the backing up in the condenser.
