    OK,

Assuming you moved the EEprom across from the old board, got the address set on the indoor unit and also that you checked that the option code correspond with the model indoor unit you got then it is easy sailing from there...

If it is a 3 pipe system then power down the MC box and then power it back up again, after that (or if you got a 2 pipe system) briefly press K3 in the outdoor unit.

    Easy, job done.

However, if the system still won't run you will have to look in to how many indoor units the outdoor unit is communicating with…
Depending on the age of the system (Model number or at least version number would help here) there is a couple of options but there will either be one or two rotary switches to set the number of indoor units you want the outdoor unit to communicate with (and someone might have messed with this in the past to get the system to run without the faulty indoor board). After you pressed K3 again and the system settled itself back down you will see the addresses of the indoor units the outdoor unit can communicate with on the two small displays, lefthand side is what addresses the outdoor unit want to communicate with and righthand side is the ones replying.

Now, should you still have issues with the system, Samsung and their distributors are a friendly bunch with experienced engineers answering their phones but if you do get stuck you are welcome to send me an email or message with your contact details and I will call you back.

if the eeproms are same as sanyos- look on the pcb you changed- look for a chip that you can remove carefully without bending the legs- they say use long nose pliers- but if you crush the bugger - anyway, on the chip there usually is a moon crescent shape or a dot on the corner of the chip- carefully flick it out, best to remove the new pcb so you can check you correctly fit it as them lil legs bend easily- then power up and leggit!

    Re: Samsung vrf !!

    Hi Darren,
EEPROM swapping for indoor boards isn't common. These contain the systems identity.
EEPROMs usually for the outdoor unit (and must stay with the unit if anyone swaps boards between systems that is). they are different to teh Sanyo ones in that they look like a small PCB plugged into a socket at 90° to the main PCB.
The one thing you will need to do when swapping the indoor board is to input the product option codeand this code is model specific.
Your distributor will have all the manuals you need and advise what option code to use if you need it.
    Cheers
