Advice required
Hi
- we have ALCO expansion valve TCLE 7.5 FW (7.5 tons for R-12), can we use it on R-22 beacuse we recently used R-22 valves for R-407C by adjusting the superheat
- What is change in composition of suction and liquid filter drier, can we use suction drier in liquid line with capacity deration?
- Copeland agrees that we can change R-22 to R-407C(compressor) by change of POE oil for semi hermetic, why is it so i m bemused coz y then are they using 2 different models for R-22 and R-407C
Our nose is our personal air-conditioning system: it warms cold air, cools hot air and filters impurities

Re: Advice required
Your TCLE 7.5 FW cannot be used for R22/R407C application because the bulb charge is intended only for R12 use and it is oversize for R22/R407C application and may result to low superheat and liquid slugging.
Liq line filter/drier has a higher %age of moisture removal. You may use STAS or ADKS for liq/suction line

Re: Advice required
They WERE using two different models. Now they are using POE also for R22 applications. You can't use mineral for R407c though.

Re: Advice required
Copeland is quite right in suggesting that by changing the oil POE you can use the R22 semihermetic compressor to R 407c. Mineral oil is not misissible with R 407c. As for the Expansion Valve it is a different issue and the same has been very nicely and clearly stated by the above two posts.
