    Optimal / Desired High side pressure for R134a best efficiency?



    Hello.

    The Question is, what is the optimal pressure of the refrigerant in the liquid line of an R134a System. Is there a certain point that when exceeded, efficiency begins to drop very quickly, or is it very linear ?

    I'm chosing a switch and thinking of a cut in and cut off point for the condenser fan, so I do not want to be cooling the condenser to the point of minimal returns, e.g trying to keep high side pressure below 170 PSI when keeping Below 210 PSI may achieve only slightly degraded results.

    Is there some sort of performance curve that can give me information on this?

    I was thinking of having the fan cut in at about 200 or 210 PSI and cut out at 180 or 170 PSI.

    I assume that you talk about system efficiency. There is optimum approach. It means temperature difference between condenser cooling medium and condensing temperature. If you have air cooled condenser, optimum approach will be temperature difference between condenser cooling air temperature and condensing temperature.
