Pain in lungs when heating with mitsubischi electric Zen series

Hi,

Because i have a solar system and i am making electricity, i thought it would be smart to also heat with electricity. So i bought myself 2 mitsubishi zen's. One for the bedroom, one for the living room.

I have worked before with airconditioners, and use them also in cars without problems.

But, i noticed the second day already that i had pain in my throat and i even felt my lungs!
Seriously i wasn't expecting this. I do have allergy for dust mite, but i never get throat pain or feel my lungs because of it. So i really don't know what could be the cause of this.

Anybody who can point me in the right direction? It is a really expensive investment for me, so i would be happy if i can use them.

I am now testing what happens when i don't use them. The day after i felt better already.
Tomorrow i will use them again, to test if i feel my lungs again. Really strange. Is it something with ion's maybe?

Its possible that its just dust built up inside units during storage that will run out with usage.Some units do have an ioniser fitted but there would be a button on the controller to switch it on or off .You would probably find it more comfortable also to lock the outlet vents at a high or low level that is not directly blowing at you.Regular fresh air intake into the rooms would also help

Maybe i am explaining it not perfectly. It is as if my breathing gets harder first, then i start to feel my lungs...
I had the units of for a couple days. I tried it now. Had them on for half an hour. I am already breathing more difficult and higher in my chest. This is really strange...

The units also make a sissing sound which gets a higher peak end then down again, then repeats itself. So not only blowing sound.Could there be fluid leaking maybe?

This is a serious problem for me.

Manufacturing oils are still being emitted by the unit.

I would suggest running it at full heating with windows/doors open and you not in the house for several hours.

Maybe low humidity...if you heat the air, the relative humidity decrease... your lungs notices that...just a guess...

Low humidity lack of fresh air, will compound any lung and throat problems, and eyes will be blinky, again lack of moisture. Fresh air is required, perhaps leave the bathroom / toilet extract going. Will drag in fresh air even with super sealed modern houses.

Some people claim that electrical heaters with with hot "red" heating element consume(use) oxygen.

You should wear dust filter for several hours to see if it is related to dust or not.

The humidity is what i thought first but it was between 50 and 60%.
It must be something with the filter or a leakage?

Tomorrow mitsubishi is coming for the noise it makes.
I will ask them too.

I had never had trouble breathing like this from any allergy.

I mean wearing the face mask for fine particles. Every air conditioner moves air, and makes fine dust particles usually settled down, to rise and move through the air. If your problem is connected to dust, it will disappear if you wear this mask for some time. Than you will know, for small money and short time, if problem is related to dust or something else.

That could be related to ionizer which is not working properly for some reason. Or it could be refrigerant leak at some point of pressure as compressor speeds up, but I doubt that especially if both units make same effect and noise.
But some noise from normal operating compressor is also transfered to indoor unit by pipes (especialy if pipes are short) and can sound like you describe.

If some plastic or motor lacker is burning or overheating in inside unit, their fumes could cause such reaction.
I would check if you have same symptoms wit each of these two units working separately (one by one).
