    When you add glycol to the water in the secondary cooling circuit, the water/glycol mixture has a lower freezing point than pure water, therefore, you can run the chiller at lower temperatures without the fear of freezing.

    The actual freezing point is dependent on the type of glycol used and the concentration level of the mixture.
