    R290 Refrigerant

    HI

We have recently seen that some european factories are now producing commercial catering fridges in R290 refrigerant for improvements in energy saving.

Can anyone shed light on how this works? Also, does the cabinet need improved insulation to support it?

How costly would a gas leak be if this had to be done compared to R134a?

Do you think R290 will become the norm?

thanks for your input and help in advance :
