Good PLC course I found
It's better to keep your mouth shut and give the impression that you're stupid than to open it and remove all doubt.

It's impossible to make anything foolproof because fools are so ingenious...
Don't ever underestimate the power of stupid people when they are in large groups.
Please, don't teach me how to be stupid....
No job is as important as to jeopardize the safety of you or those that you work with.

Re: Good PLC course I found
The best do-it-yourself PLC course I've found is not a course but a user manual. Go to automationdirect.com and download the manuals for their model DL05 PLC. It discusses ladder logic commands, provides examples, and covers details that most textbooks overlook.
You can also download a free version of Directsoft programming software to practice writing programs. It is limited to 100 words but that is more than enough for simple applications.
I bought a PLC and manual from them years ago and within two weeks I learned enough to build a machine for a customer. The printed manuals are admittedly much easier to read than the PDF's. You can't put sticky notes in a PDF.
I have several trade school and college textbooks on PLC's and they all suck.
