    .

I agree with Chemies open question, plus I would
advise you to look at the rating. It might be a slightly
bigger comp but is it a low back pressure (LBP) or
    high back pressure (HBP).

If you use a fridge compressor in a freezer application
it might not be suitable and visa-versa for a freezer
    compressor in a fridge application.

In principle a comp that is just slightly bigger but compatible,
should have no issues replacing a similar but smaller comp.

As always Rob, you pinpoint the qustion, so I will refrase my question,

Model and make of the old compressor and the new compressor.

That should give us the ability to judge.

    Hi
The old compressor is BA18MG-1 off a heatcaft system r404a.The new compressor has a displacement of 16 and is hbp.(don't have model on me right now).Room will be running at 3°c, worried about low back pressure and superheat on system if compressor is too different.

Tthis is a number of a condensing unit, medium temp and the compressor displacement is 18cc.
Looks like compressors they use are made by kirby.

    Re: cold room

It should work, diferences are minor, you might have to agjust the superheat but do that at one or two C above setpoint.
