Re: split ac indoor unit electric heater
ioniser...
look at the nameplate for electrical load- prob around 50watt for fan motor and comms- if it was a heater then it would be of a higher outputLast edited by install monkey; 18-09-2013 at 09:21 PM.

Re: split ac indoor unit electric heater
mitsubishi mr slims about 10yr ago used to have a boost heater option
imi hilo units had elec htr but theyre 20 yr old
any electric heater will affect energy efficiency ratings- also a fire hazard too- burgerkings used to use york ducted units with electric reheat batteries in the duct - lots of flashy lights when a 90kw 3ph heater bank blows an element

Re: split ac indoor unit electric heater
on imi's they were for heating as reverse cycle heating in low ambients meant regular defrosting , on mitsi units they were an option to boost output -in cooling mode on any air con then the indoor shouldnt freeze up if aslong as the filters clean, setpoint is within limits and gas charge is ok
