Found a small stash of R12 - What to do with it?

I was recently contacted by a friend who had been clearing out a shed and found some refrigerant cylinders. They contacted me and I went to see what they had found. It turned out to be four 13kgs cylinders of R12. The next problem is what to do with them next. The options are pretty limited in that I could hire a large recovery cylinder, pump the R12 over and send it off for reprocessing, with the potential of having to pay for the destruction. Whichever there is going to be some costs involved or... What would be your thoughts or helpful suggestions?

drop them outside your local tip or fridge wholesaler one night. they will dispose of them for your friend in the morning

In Europe, CFCs have been banned since 1994 (e.g. R12, R502).
