    r600a on a bosch fridge

Hello , new in the forum . I have a bosch fridge purchased 4 years ago . A week ago tha compressor started a rattling noise and after two days the fridge went off(temperatur raised..etc) I called a technician , told me that the compressor has been blocked.
I searched the prices for a new danfoss compressor for r600a refrigerant. Through my search I found out that in r600a compressor occur often problems of blockage .
I want to ask if I can apply a compressor with an other refrigerant , cheaper and with more endurance .
    Thank you

Short answer is yes but you would need to size it correctly power wise and physically(so it fits in the same place) also pipework may need altering to suit and flushing through. It isn't really worth doing as this would all cost you the price of a new fridge.
