    Regas in winter- 410a ref.

    Hey there,

    just after some advice on recharging 410a residential ducted/ wall splits ac's

    Now its winter in aus where working in some cold conditions 0-5 degress, ive tried a few options, heating the tank in warm water an with oxi bottle too. Are there any better alternatives??? cheers comments would be appreciated

    Generally on a residential unit you should be able to pull the majority of the charge in under vacuum ,intermittently close the liquid line valve and draw the rest in under pumpdown .
    If you know you are traveling to such a job allow the cylinder to ride shotgun with the heater on in the footwell (health and safety reps frown upon this one).
    You could go the whole hog and buy an electric cylinder warming jacket.
    Alternatively get a small 2kw fan heater and lob it in the back of the van for a while with the doors closed you will be surprised how much heat it will generate in there.
    Or pump it in with a reco rig !!
