hi
i have outdoor fan motor
have 7 wires
im confused how to connect them
here is the wiring diagram

i thing the yellow
purple
white are the speeds
and pink and brown are the capacitor start and run
but what about the other 2 Gray wires
they are both the neutral or what

Re: split ac outdoor fan motor connection
normally thermistor- normally closed - continuity under normal conditions and open circiut when it overheats to protect the windings

I wouldn't connect gray and gray to power in unless you want to let some smoke out of that motor. Gray and gray look like an internal line break (thermal switch). Call the manufacturer. http://www.welling.com.cn/html/contact_general.php

Re: split ac outdoor fan motor connection
yellow is high speed, purple is medium, white is low. take the pink wire to one side of your run capacitor (a 6uf RUN capacitor)and take the brown to the other side, and put your neutral on the same side of the capacitor as the brown wire. there is no start capacitor for this motor.
the grey wires would be an internal thermal overload within the motor, a normally closed switch that will open circuit if the motor overheats, it can be used as a safety in the control circuit if u wish, or they can just be terminated.
hope this helps.

Re: split ac outdoor fan motor connection
also sometimes the thermistor /overheat circuit cannot take the load of the motor- had a 4 amp fan 1phase and wired the live thru the thermistor circuit first- turns out the thermistor kept open circuit occasionally- so had to fit a contactor and loop the overheat via the a1 for the contactor coil

Re: split ac outdoor fan motor connection
today i wired the fan as below
and it worked
yellow is high speed, purple is medium, white is low. take the pink wire to one side of your run capacitor (a 6uf RUN capacitor)and take the brown to the other side, and put your neutral on the same side of the capacitor as the brown wire. there is no start capacitor for this motor.
without the gray and gray wirs
after that i wired the fan with the two gray wires as neutral
i put one of the gray wires to one side of the capacitor
and the other to neutral lead in the electric socket

Re: split ac outdoor fan motor connection
I think other 2 gray wires are from thermal contact. (Motor overheat Protector)
