    Oil removing/filling

What is a normal oil transport of a good working NH3 plant?I heard figures of +/- 20 cc/hour. This seems too much for me
What is the normal frequency of an oil drain?

    Re: Oil removing/filling

Peter, generally speaking, depending on how good the oil separators are & what type will determine how much oil carryover in a particular plant. Correctly designed & maintained oil separator with coalescing type filters could throw over 10-15ppm. No filter can stop oil vapour so something has to pass over into system. Depending on the plant & oil separators oil drain frequency could be from weekly to generally monthly. Depends on how big plant is & how many compressors as well. Each plant is different. An old type plant with cyclonic or impingement oil separator more monthly & in a lot of cases weekly.

Lots of variables here. Condensing pressure, plant size, filter type, etc. Can you provide some more info?

This above is a very high figure, but possible ... fully agree with above answers ... can be weekly or monthly also from one litter to one bucket ....

Generally, when starting a new plant which is working OK, compressor check would be after 200h, 1000h, 2500h and 5000h what can give us a complete status of the plant and then is possible to make oil drain schedule particularly for each plant even for each oil drain place ... some places needs oil drain more frequently some less ... kind of game...

Hope this is of some help to you.

    Best regards, Josip
