    parallel TXV

Would it work to connect two TXVs in parallel and use them as one big TXV?

I think if 2 valves used they would fight each other. 1 larger valve would be better if you can get it big enough, if not there are ways around it.

    .

It would work if you fed them into a distributor.

As long as the valves are matched and as long as they
have equal duty, I can't see there being any real problems.

If you want to control them you could put them on solenoid valves
and then you could shut one down while you set the superheat
    for the other and visa-versa.

If it is a cost thing then remember two smaller valves could be dearer
than one larger valve and be aware of space issues for fitting both in.

    Regards

    Rob

I have seen it in split capacity systems, each valve opperates half a coil independant of each other, but with a common suction line. with only one fitted with a solenoid cut off valve, once room capacity is met and load stable they shut off one valve and the system is held by the master valve.

It's mostly just an idea, although I did find some extra cheap 1/4 ton R22 TXVs and it would be nice if I could use two of them in my 1/2 ton air conditioner/dehumidifier. And if I add a solenoid to shut one of them off, I could possibly get more control range.

remember, when you reduce load at coil you need to equaly unload compressor!

VFD's are pretty damned cheap now days, but beaware the oiling of the compressor.

to use them you need a vcp100 charge for the txv head, and you need to devide your coile in to 2 halfs equaly!

If you download document 10.9 from http://www.sporlanonline.com via the literature section and read page 11 you will see their take on the subject.
