    STAL U4 Spares

The cost of genuine spares for this machine are through the roof. Anyone know where to get alternatives? Heard tooling was sold to a company in India and parts and comps maybe still be getting made?????
    Cheers

They were always an average machine, if client can afford spares maybe he could afford a new Mycom or similar.

On a precautionary note, the manufacturing clearances on alternative spares is often more relaxed than OEM.

We have been caught out with pistons touching discharge valve plate despite making "correct" spacing when using non OEM parts - remedy was to fit additional packing under the cylinder liner.

Be mindful of potential clearance differences, basically rebuild the machine as if you were using a bunch of second hand parts - cheap spares still come at a cost..
