Error code P6 on Midea VRF
Can anyone help me determine the cause or problem of error code P6 ( Inverter module protection )? The model is Midea SA-MDV-V450W/N1. Condenser fan runs for a few minutes and stop while the compressor never runs at all. Then after another few minutes fan motor will start and stop again. Maybe this will help, I was informed that the compressor was already replaced. When I checked the condenser, I also saw signs of leak repair at one of the pressure sensor.

Thanks for the quick reply. However, the description on the error code table of this unit is inverter module protection.

Re: Error code P6 on Midea VRF
I tried to switch the PC board from other units and the result is an error code E0 ( communication error between outdoor units ). Is this mean the problem is PC board?

Re: Error code P6 on Midea VRF
It could be that the addressing is different on the PC board you put in, giving you an E0. It is possible that the inverter PCB has been damaged. P6 has a multitude of items that you need to check. It is a fairly common problem here in South Africa because of our unreliable power. Items that need to be checked include the contactor coil, the reactor, the IPM PCB, the power filter pcb or even the direction the "N" cable is going through the CT from the rectifier to the IPM PCB. I have attached a link to the troubleshooting manual. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...troduction.ppt
