Right click on 'MY COMPUTER' and select 'properties'
This will give you system info processor type and memory size.
Then right click on the hard drive icon and select 'properties'
This will give you hard drive size (get the total not the used or free).
Post this info and any other relavent info and then we can decide where to go next.

Re: What os ? i dont know. you tell me what i should use.
As stated before here. You will have to stick with the '98.
Next step up windows XP needs @ least 128 mb Ram to run efficiently. To run right you would need need @ least 256.
As for the 1.18gb drive c and 808 mb drive for drive d.
That means your hard drive is split into 2 (Partitioned)
You have just over a 2.2 gb hard drive all together. You would need @ least 3 to run windows XP, and that would be without any extra programs. Your stuck with the '98, which is actually not a bad os.

I would also say keep Win98' . If you tried to upgrade to anything else it would take 2hrs to boot up each time and for every mouse click there would be a 10min delay.
I think it might be time to upgrade the computer.LOL

Re: What os ? i dont know. you tell me what i should use.
You would definately be able to do this. I would probably keep Internet Explorer as it is not a big program and you may want to access the internet for updates to the programs you want installed. Ditch the rest. Cheers

i will only store files on it
Maybe a new hd , and a stick of ram later on
bargain for $20 Australian with the key board and mouse
just cleaned up the old OS reinstalled 98 windows
have not done any transfers yet , but i think as i said
before more ram first , then see what space is left on the drive.Last edited by fridg; 16-02-2006 at 07:41 AM.
