Where does this temp sensor go?
I have a ducted reverse cycle system, a water-cooled package.
It's coming up with "fault" on the panel when heating after a few minutes and the compressor shuts down for about 5 minutes before it tries again.
I've narrowed the problem down to the coil temperature sensor - when unplugged, there is no "fault" message or shutdown, however that sensor needs to be there and plugged in.
The only problem is, I'm not sure where it's supposed to go.

I've attached a picture of the coil temperature sensor. I've circled two places, a green circle and a red circle. The line at the green circle goes to the heat exchange for heating/cooling the apartment, and the red circle is the water line that goes back up to the roof.
Where do you think it should go?

Re: Where does this temp sensor go?
I wouldn't think it is the green as that is just a 'coil'ed capillary tube.
More likely to be the red position.
I have to ask though, where was it before you pulled it out?Brian - Newton Abbot, Devon, UK

Re: Where does this temp sensor go?
That's the problem. I didn't pull it out, someone else did. I immediately thought it would go where I put the red circle, but even after buying a new sensor it still says fault (albeit, after over an hour of use rather than just a few minutes).
However, when the other guy pulled it out, he said it "came out of the cable tie very easily", which is the only thing pointing me there.
I'm kicking myself for not asking at the time.

Re: Where does this temp sensor go?
Hi when you say coil temperature sensor is it not maybe the ducted coil sensor? Make and model would probably let someone find the PID drawing for the circuit it would make it simple to diagnose.
