    samsung AQV12VBCN

I've fitted a new pcb board in Samsung AQV12VBCN and have tried a few different codes but it still isn't working - the outside compressor does not seem to work with any of the codes.

    Re: samsung AQV12VBCN

Thanks for the manual download i really appreciate it. Each time I press the mode button on the remote control unit it says on the display 00 00 00 press again says 1 0 00 00 and again says 2 0 00 00 and again 3 0 00 00. in the manual it says the default reading should be 1 or 0 how can i reset this. I think your right a Big Hammer & a gallon of petrol will be next cheers Bill

Thanks very much for your help. I've been having problems with this for 12 months now. I phoned Samsung and they wanted £400 for a call out!
    Thanks again

    Hi Bonding Bill,

Something I don't understand - you've fitted a board to the indoor unit (VBCN) to try to get the compressor to run in the outdoor unit (VBCX). Why?

The option code that Install Monkey gave you is correct.

Do you get any fault indication - LEDs indoor or outdoor flashing or error code somewhere?

Have you metered out to compressor windings? Checked to earth too? Do you get any current draw at all by the compressor? Have you tried an inverter checker on the inverter outputs?

Maybe - just maybe - it's an outdoor inverter board fault.

I think you must have spoken to a distributor because that price isn't correct for a Samsung engineer to come out.

Let us know what you've found so far so we have a chance of assisting.

    Best Regards

    Cheers

    Re: samsung AQV12VBCN

    Hi Loops,
I ran a few more tests with no luck. So decided to put the old PCB back in and test again. It all worked perfect with the new code but only when the PCB was 'hanging loose' outside the unit, as soon as I slotted it back into place it didn't work! I let the PCB 'hang loose' again and the machine was working for about an hour (heating & cooling, etc..). I switched the machine off and then back on again 10mins later to test again but now get an error code E472 which the manual says is 'AC Line Zero Cross Signal Out'. I'm at a loss what this actually means and what to do next. Any ideas?
    thanks
    Bill

    Re: samsung AQV12VBCN

Sorry been bouncing around the country and not able get access to RE forum.

The error code indicates a loss of one of the power supplies onto the outdoor pcb, so I agree a dry joint or a dodgy connection through one of the multi pin connectors.

WITH THE POWER OFF try pulling each wire out of the connector to see if one comes loose. That'll be it.

Could be corrosion in one of the connectors so a bit of contact cleaner might be in order. Pull them all apart and rejoin a few times.

Let us know how you get on.

    Cheers

    Loops
