    any suggestion about this problem ..






    I have a set of ( 12 ) unit of this type of Copland compressors ... they are left without working since 2008 ... my proplem is there are (9) of them humming without start ..
    (2) of them was start with load noise and high current ..( 1) of them start normally ..any suggestion about this proplem ..

    proove ur getting 3 phase to the contactors, if your not then a fuse,contactor issue, if you are clip the current to see if ur pulling around 160amp,then compressor siezed

    I did all the recommended steps ...especially the 3 phase connection but the ( 9 ) compressors was sized...

    inspection cover on them is underneath,so theyre a bugger to inspect,cheapest option is to get them refurbished and replace all contactors,overloads,fuses

    Hi take the oil pump off and by using a large flat screw driver spin the crankshaft and see how it feels. If tight or siezed youll be able to tell it

    They are 33 (!) years old...

    If you are to use them your best bet is to get them overhauled by a professional compressor refurbishment outfit that would strip them and give them new bearings/seals/windings.

    But really? What would you do with a 30 year old car that didn't start???

    Also these comps have robert shaw motor protectors and control modules. So kriwan int69 module wont work. And fsm modle is a 50% part wind start
