Hi,

For an existing control room facility, it is proposed to have an air lock room for additional safety. The calculations based on ASHRAE orifice requirements were performed and it was arrived that 130CFM is required additional to maintain the 50Pa pressure in the room.

The existing ceiling suspened AHU supply air is 1300CFM. The client has asked us to to do "duct modification" to ensure this 130CFM flow into the airlocks. From my perspective this isnt workable as the AHU CFM (1300) is required to cater the heat load. Am I wroong.

I am planning to propose an inline fine to the airlock (air being drawn from the conditioned area). Any suggestions?

Thank you
Nevin.
