    Re: Trane screw compressor oil

    Hi.

    As the below indicates.
Both 025E and 050E are semi synthetic 300SUS 68 grade.
    Just search for an alternative.
    The E denotes European Oil.

    OIL00050 Semi-synthetic, viscosity: 300 SUS = 68cSt, eleven 10 litre containers, same asOIL0025E

    Trane compressor

    Hi All,

I am trying to find some compressor details and was wondering if anyone here can help.

I am cross referencing a Trane Compressor 3E5H80 on R22. Does anyone have information on this compressor?

    Many thanks

    Re: Trane screw compressor oil

I'm not a salesman or trying to sling any snake oil. I'm simply trying to help supplement this forum's knowledge base of lubricants. It appears many just understand oil as oil. I attempt to not directly market or sell anything (especially since we do not sell to end users). I'm simply here to try and help people make a better fluid selection - even if it's not one of ours.

As for the original question. Any POE based fluid in a 68cSt will work just fine. If you notice high R22 dilution into your oil, you may have to step up to a 100cSt. The big thing is to have a minumum viscosity of 7-9cSt at your bearings (which are usually 180-220║F) POEs generally have a higher viscosity index and better solubility/miscibility with R22 and any lubricants the compressor might have been running prior. POEs do not contain paraffin particles like cracked oils (or base mineral oil) and are more stable oxidatively. There is a reason many OEMs are now shipping their products filled with POE based fluids.

The Trane open drive model 'E' eight cylinder - what do you want to know about the nominal 100 TR (R22) based on 60HZ compressor?
