    mcquay centrif peh 126 oil pump



    hi friends has any body changed a oil sight guage on centrif oil pump and how difficult is it. Because ive been told it pretty hard to do.any info would be helpfull. Thankyou

    Hi GHAZ,
    From distant memory, if after 1987, oil pump assy should be a "squat" type as page 99 of below manual.
    The level glass can be removed from the outside by undoing the two bolts, hollow bolt and "O" ring arrangement. If you have the replacement parts you may be able to confirm. As I say distant memory.
    The long oil pumps prior to this date are a complete nightmare, they are a nut and bolt arrangement, requiring the removal of the lid for access which has the pump assy attatched. Best avoided!!
    The attached parts manual gives some idea but not too clear.

    This may not be the same series oil pump you have but i believe this is the same level glass arrangement see page 5.
