    hi guys
Is its necessary to have fresh air duct for air-conditioners? because according to my experience i have seen fresh air ducts of package units but not so much for ducted systems.

    No, not necessary at all.

However, us humans do require fresh air...

    Hi ?
It depends on the size and application. If it is for domestic we can open a window or door a little but in a commercial situation there are requirements and the AIRAH Book has a good guide for different applications.

in the uk - building regs req approx 10 ltr per min per person in a standard office enviroment- package units use this fresh air as free cooling when ambient outside air is cooler than the return air from the room, if cooling is req then the economiser opens and its cheaper to use fresh air and dirty ur filters than using the compressor
