Angry Inficon Ultrasonic leak detector Fail

OK, so about a 4months ago we bougth an ultrasonic leak detector finder.
From Inficon, there was a post here pointing out this device can locate a leak for
the ultrasonic sound from a gas fluid from inconming to the system (when its
being evacuated) or leaving the sytem (when already has a positive pressure)

I have never being use this pice of equipment to, yesterday when we try to locate a
leak in a remote condenser from an Icemachine.

We are sure there was a leak, because there was a oil and dust spot in the conexions
form the condender, so lets try the ultrasonic leak detector to see whath we get....

In the end... this piece of equipment must be misscalibrated or worse... uselles at all.

Re: Inficon Ultrasonic leak detector Fail

I have understood the ultrasonic leak detectors to work best with refrigerant recovery and pumping up with nitrogen to ~150psi. How does everyone use theirs?
