New guy with a Vintage Hotpoint :)

    Hello,
I'm new here, and yeah, I'm really not a refrigerator tech. I am mechanically inclined and diy most of the stuff that I think I can do safely.
Anyway... I have a question regarding a complete retrofit. Where should I post the question?
It involves using my vintage HOTPOINT ref and completely gutting and replacing every component to make it work again.
    Thanks.

And can anyone point me to an article which describes the components and how a refrigerator basically works?

Thanks!!! I don't want this beauty to go to waste!

Cheapest option for a reliable result?

Find a local time served refrigeration engineer to do it for you. He/she should be able to correctly design and carry out the repair/modification.
