2 x Kelvinator Splits, same problem

    Heya,

I have two kelvinator split systems that are pretty much identical, one slightly larger than the other.
    KSR25F and KSR10F

they both run and cool OK, but run in forced operation only.
I was thinking because they both seem to have the same drama, that possibly the remote control or the receiver that plugs onto the PC board has died?

Worst case scenario, im guessing the PC board will need to be replaced. I remember that from when they were working, that the one remote could control both units.

I'm a transport refrigeration tech, and have never played around with splits before.
    Any help appreciated

    IR remotes?
IF so have you tried replacing their batteries?
Also, you can check that the IR diod is functioning by viewing it through a digital camera (like on a mobile phone)

Some mobile phones can't see the diode function. The old Nokia i have does.
