Recommended refrigeration book
Hello,
I've been doing a/c refrigeration for two years now and recently went from install to service and am in my first year of my nvq2 and was wondering if anyone could recommend any good refrigeration books worth buying?
Few on amazon but some seem outdated.
Best one I think so far is Refrigeration and Air Conditioning by Hundy? Any got that one?

Help would be massively appreciated

Re: Recommended refrigeration book
Tried looking for books on fault diagnosal for years and none found yet. I started noting down faults and systems till I got used to them so I could always look back if I was struggling.

2.Principle of refrigeration by Dossat

Re: Recommended refrigeration book
Hello,
I have recently moved from Install to service too.
I would say Dossat is the best book but, its just a case of knowing the system i.e what it should be doing at a particular point. like if your evaporator isn't getting cold then looking at the expansion device (ED) for a potential blockage? of if the ED is fine then look at pressure.
I really would say that you can read all you want about a system but without touching and feeling a system and knowing what it should be doing then it would be hard to fault and fix a system.
But dossat everytime.
Hope this helps?

Re: Recommended refrigeration book
I suggest a book, third edition of basic refrigeration and air conditioning, author PN.ANANTHANARAYANAN has over 50 years of experience in handling varied types of ref&air conditioning system. This book is a better learning tool…..

Re: Recommended refrigeration book
I have bought many, many books since I've been in the trade but the one that I would recommend would be kotza refribase and then kotza refrepair.
Although books like Dossat (yes I also have this book)are great, they are to difficult to understand for quite a lot of engineers and quite a lot of engineers that I've met just wanted a basic straight forward methodical way to trouble shoot systems, this is where I think Kotza is great.
They start right from the beginning explaining, superheat, sub cooling and aren't too technical.
I bought both books and the cd interactive package which should cost around £1500, I think they should use these to teach in college. The difference between genius and stupidity is that genius has its limits.
