marshal heat pump split defrost problem
hi
i have marshal 2 ton split unit r22
in heating mode it work perfectly
the outdoor fan never stop working
then discharge temp is 110 c
suction is 55 c
13 amp current
compressor is not hot
i set indoor unit to 32 c
but the outoodr fan never stop spinning
and water is continue flow from outdoor unit
i suspect the indoor sensor on pipes may be not fixed correctly so i unpluged it then plugged it
so the outdoor fan stopped work and compressor kept running
after one day
i turned on the split so
the fan and compressor kept working never stoped until the room temp is reached 32 c
so both comp and fan stopped
so what the cause of the problemLast edited by kefah; 11-02-2013 at 03:09 PM.

Re: marshal heat pump split defrost problem
"discharge temp is 110 c" but "compressor is not hot"???
With a suction temp of 55ºC and a discharge of 110ºC I would expect the compressor to be hot as well...
Although it would be nice to know the pressures this machine is operating at I feel that the first thing to do, considering the high temperatures, is to reclaim the refrigerant and see if it is short of charge.
Another thing that might give similar symptoms is if there is a problem with the reversing valve but I would start with checking the charge.
Happy hunting.

thank u
sorry for mistake
55 c is not the suction temp
its the indoor unit return temp

Re: marshal heat pump split defrost problem
the problem is solved
out door fan didnt stop because the temperature in indoorunit was not reached the required temp to make the outdoor fan stop
thank u allLast edited by kefah; 08-09-2013 at 08:33 PM.
