I would recommend fitting an electronic expansion valve as a replacement this you can justify from the energy saving and the multi use should they decide to change the refrigerant.

The Carel EXE valves http://www.carel.com/carelcom/web/en...p?id_gamma=108
are the easiest valves to commission in the market and can be set in four easy steps.

For selection Ev2V24B would suit your application.

Are you designing a new system or doing a parts replacement? You do not really want to operate in a vacuum with R22 so your TD is getting very close but will suffice just be sure you have selected the correct refrigerant for your requirement. I would have selected R507 or R404a.

The exe valve I selected will give you a refrigerant duty of 10-14 Kw.

Dear mre212

Instead of finding equivalent of Alco valve you can specify what is the pressure at inlet of valve, what is the evaporation temperature expected and what is the capacity of valve either in Tons or in kW required and what is the temperature of refrigerant before expansion valve and you should be able to select thermostatic expansion valve of danfoss from heir catalog. Hello all,and thank you for reply
my system consist of two bitzer compressors type: S6F-30.2 and one evaporator 40KW (Plate & shell heat exchanger). i use Cacl2 brine as secondary coolant(-38°C) So is ALCO will be OK or not
