Consensus on changing overload/ relays. I havent had a lot of luck over the years recalls warranty issue loss of stock etc. how many people try to fix compressors or just change the whole thing considering the cost of stock etc in a coolroom what's the consensus

    .

Repair the compressor where acceptable and replace when not.

If the cost of the repair is going to out weigh the cost of replacement
in the long term then replace the thing with new.

But the question is too generic..

Comps take many forms, hermetic, semi hermetic, open drive, scroll, recip,
rotor or centrifugal just to mention a few. Some compressors are disposable
some are designed to be worked on.

Now if your question was aimed at small hermetic compressors, then replacing
does make sense, sometimes, but it depends on a huge range of variables
and in my opinion, it can't be answered in just one sentence.

    Regards

always change the overload, contactor, tev, drier whichever option you chose and be 110% certain you know what caused the failure.
