    Smile Freezing tunnel evaporators

    Hi there,
Can anyone introduce an evaporator manufacturing company for freezing tunnels (-35°C room) with R22?
I need the required coil surface area with the capacity.
    Appreciate any comment.
    Cheers

    Re: Freezing tunnel evaporators

What capacity of coil are you looking for? Is it a direct expansion or pumped liquid over-feed application?

Aerofreeze and Krack are a couple of manufacturers that build both.

    Hi Sergius,
Thanks for the reply. I have checked the companies you mentioned but there is no catalogue available!!
    I need a blast freezer evap. for R22 DX. The capacity is 20kW @ -40°C TD=5°C.
    Cheers.

    i have one freezing tunnel with 12x 5.5 x 3.5 m (Lxlxh).
I have 3000 kg meat(pork/chicken/beef), polyuretan 150 mm insulation, i don't know how long is the procces.
What reffrigered power is required? i need -40°C in the tunnel , R404 or R134

You're missing or forgetting some very important things to consider:
    3.000 kg doesn't say anything?
Available time for freezing? This is the most important factor for your project (will take at least half a day)
Entering temperature and desired temperature after freezing?
    Cutted meat or carcasses?
In boxes or open in trolleys or on a belt?
    If boxes, type of box?
    Feed through tunnel (FIFO)?
    -40°C with R134a
    -40°C is evepaorting at -46°C to -48°C
For me 150 mm PU is not enough for -40°C inside.

    Estimated capacity (I'm taking water, counts easier) of (3000 x 10 x 1) + (3000 x 85) + (3000 x 20 x 1)/10hours or 37 kW + 10 kw for the fans = +/- 45 to 50 kW or 50 HP.
    Preferable with a pack.

Don't forget also that a freezing tunnel is not such an easy project as it seems on the first sight, especially if you don't have enough experience with it.
It's better to keep your mouth shut and give the impression that you're stupid than to open it and remove all doubt.

dont know if you found what you were looking for, but anyways, Fincoil has a wide range of evaporators, we use them from time to time and They are pretty good quality.

    Lana,

Please email me directly @ msanchez@ams-pmt.com
I will forward your request to Krack / Evapco/ Frick-Imeco and Colmac.
These are all Industrial Evaporator manufacturers.
I deal with these people daily in th US.
They should all have websites that you can visit.

Many industrial coils are custom designed.

I am involved with IIAR / ASHRAE & RETA

    Re: Freezing tunnel evaporators

    Hello, you can visit
    http://www.guentner.de/

they also have a GPC calculator to download. Their products are very good, I'm working with them for a long time. From calculator you can choose DX evaporator and condenser.
From http://www.bitzer.de you can dowload software for compresor. I do believe that you are going to make a charging freezing tunnel (cold room) what is much easier than to make a good continuous freezing tunnel.
Anyhow, this is not a simple project and if you don't have a good experience ....do not start.
    Best regards!
