Question Floorless versus Floored walk ins ??...

I am looking to replace five walk-in coolers in the basement of a hotel. A main sticking point has become floorless versus floored walk-ins. What would be the downsides of floorless walk-ins?

The pros being costs savings, durability, ease of access rolling in and out, ease of cleaning, an additional 4" of inside height...

I suspect much heat will be lost through the floor, unless an insulated panel is installed. Consider that cool air sinks to the floor, and refrigeration is continuous.
IN a warm climate the heat losses would be substantial.

the concrete floor transmit heat from the ground all year round. average temp of the soil is at the 20C's.

I recommend to insulate the existing floor, make a new concrete floor above it and and than build the cold rooms at floor level or add a ramp and easy slope.

in the long run, it will pay itself back and save electricity, smaller units.
