    Useful site, Frank. Thank you.

I've got a bee in my bonnet at the moment about the time it take to clear cheques. The 3 day rule is a fraud when it extends to over a week for some Scottish banks and building Societies/Banks.

It's estimnated that there is anything up to ?30M in clearing houses at any one time. Work out the interest and you can see why the banks don't want to change.

I understand that it takes 10 days to clear a cheque through a Building Society (from having to pay one of my employees by BACS) - why so long?

    Beats me, Frank.

I thought a week was bad enough.
