    BTU/H to KWH Conversion

Does anyone know of a good calculation for BTUH to KWH? I have found some calcs that say .29 KWH per MBTU. NOt sure how accurate this is. A good calc will help me figure enrgy savings when I am asking for funding for projects.

Coorsman777, just a very important correction:

    1) Btu.h?!? It doesn't exists. Btu/h exists and is the rate of energy per unit of time » power.

    2) Btu is already energy doesn't need be multiplied by h (time)

    3) kW.h is energy. kW is power. kW/h doesn't exists...doesn't make sense

    Teuria the correct answer is Btu/h x 0.2930711 = W.

    Many people do this error...

    Hi

Sorry my mistake.. i don't work with I-P units

    Btu/h x 0.2930711 = W
    But 1 Btu x 0.293071 = W.h (watt-hour)

and this is again from ashrae handbook
