    Newbie on split units

    Hi

Newbie wanting to do things the right way. Could someone please help me with the right methods

Would like to know what is the correct method of checking superheat on a split unit. I was also told the best way to charge a split unit is to put it on heating mode when you charge it,then you can never overcharge the unit. Is this true. That said if it provides heating and cooling. Otherwise you would charge it according to weight of gas....am i correct.

    Thanks

With modern, inverter driven, splits you should always properly weigh the correct charge in to the system.

And no, charging it in heating mode will not prevent you from overcharging it, sorry.
