    Safe disconnect?

    Hi,

Please excuse the ignorance but I have a very basic question.

I have taken over a shop that has a remote refrigeration unit driving two fridges.

The assembly looks conventional - i have attached a pic of something similar - and there is a sticker saying something about nitrogen on it and it is connected to the fridges by copper pipe.

My question is can I simply cut the pipe to disconnect the units for relocation? Is this safe? Is there a right way?

thanks in advance and happy new year

    cheers Giro

    Re: Safe disconnect?

the right way is to use a phone and call a company to come and quote you.

Whilst not exactly sure I understand it's illegal to work on refrigeration equipment in AU without the necessary state licence

This advise ignores the obvious 'whoops I've just 'effed my fridge' bit..

    cheers

    Richard

    Re: Safe disconnect?

Following on from Richard's post, please be advised that you could seriously injure yourself by 'simply cutting' the pipes.

Without knowing what is inside them, don't touch.

Gas at high pressure can puncture your skin, refrigerants can caouse frostbite and blindness.

Take the safe and sensible option, call an expert please.
