    Liquid drier bypass

    Hi

I was starting up one york chiller about year ago and saw that there is liquid drier bypass without any stopvalves in it.

I'm just wondering why is that build in there?

possibly to absorb moisture and not allow any pressure drop accross the drier

    Re: Liquid drier bypass

Seen a similar set up on a Daikin VRF pipe schematic. It was confirmed to me that some of the refrigerant went through the drier and some bypassed it - still a bit bafflled as to why someone dreamed that idea up.

    Cheers,
    Andy.

Drier looks undersized for size of liquid line, saves them fitting a removable drier core housing?

They preempted the drier blocking so that it does not interrupt flow. On the later versions no doubt they changed it a little to fix some unanticipated flaws...............

Na...you're all wrong. Thats a handle for lifting out the drier assembly. Can't you see its very heavy.

Can't be that heavy. It is a Danfoss, and they are so light they make lousy fishing sinkers.....
