    Stock organisation

    G'day all

Because our company is quite a distance from the nearest wholesaler we need to keep stock at the factory because some parts may take a couple of days to arrive.

I am trying to organise the shelves so that everything is readily accesible and not spread everywhere.

Was wondering what methods other people adopt to keep the shop stock organized and neat.

    Regards

there is only one way and that is to employ a fulltime storeman.

otherwise you will sort out everything and within a week the place will be a mess....

    cheers

And have a laser scan system set up
so you can scan incoming and outgoing stock
you will know what you have , what your getting
    and what is going.
The primary function of the design engineer is to make things difficult for the fabricator and impossible for the serviceman.

do it by alphabetical order that way the person picking the item can find it easier just mark up your shelving with letters big enough to read and Bobs your uncle
